We had a front end bringing in buyers…

 

Adam O’Dell’s recommendations on the front-end were crushing…

 

And the internal beta test of Adam’s new options strategy (which the promo was based on) was something to behold – gains on gains on gains!
 

This is dream fodder for any copywriter…

 

Still, thanks to the 88 Method™, we were able to capitalize on the stellar work from our guru and broader team…

 

We had a $1.5m launch day from a hotlist of just 5,826 active sign-ups…

So the conversion rate on this promo was super high...

If this was launched before the FTC slap when our lists were bigger (and thus we had more on the hotlist) one can imagine an eight-figure launch...

This promo was a nightmare to get through legal...

We spent two months going back and forth over the terminology we'd coined (legal didn't like "Infinite Energy" or our concept of "trapped energy" being that infinite energy source)...

Yet our team were the proverbial "dog with a bone"...

 

In an email thread with legal that went past 100 replies (it was so big it would glitch my browser every time I tried to open it), we managed to find an argument to support these terms that legal would sign off on...

I recall some violent fist-pumping!


As ever, this was a team effort – Nate Vandenburg was on the vanguard against the legal blockade, and Adam’s performance on camera was something special…

 

Our video editor Zach also hit this one out of the park…

Consistent results, even in difficult markets…

The three promotions above were launched back-to-back-to-back during an extremely difficult period across the Agora businesses.

 

The FTC ruling had crashed into us like a freight train…

 

All of our working promos were pulled down and the new copy rules weakened what we could write, particularly around claims...

 

Further, our copy had to go through our legal and an outside legal team – at which point it had usually been robbed of its punch (while adding a month or more to the project time)…

 

This was an incredible drag on the overall business, with most affiliates going backwards in revenue, amid ad-spend pullbacks, staff cuts and even the closing of entire franchises...

 

Yet Money & Markets  the imprint of Banyan where we implemented the 88 Method™  bucked this trend…

 

To my knowledge, we became the only part of Agora that wasn’t going backwards (along with Monument Traders Alliance who gained an edge with their awesome live format)… 

 

And we weren’t just growing – but growing fast

 

We more than doubled the business in a 12-month period.

Yet because Phil had no front-end file and no relationship with any list in the business, we knew we faced a challenge in generating sales…

 

Further, we were launching a bull market promo a month after the Silicon Valley Bank collapse triggered a cascade of bank failures…

 

Many thought Great Recession 2.0 was on the way…
